I wish we could add more pictures than just this amount, I have hundreds. I've lived here for 2 years and I have been in the army and navy (both in the combat field) and slept is some pretty horrific places, this being one of them. I have never had known any police officers by first name before until I moved here. I have had more tires and windows slashed here in 2 years then anywhere my whole life. I regulary get offered drugs by people walking through the complex. I'm in the process of having to testify in court agaisnt someone that broke into my apartment (funny thing is the office sent me lease renewel letter about a hour after it happened, even funnier is that they came out to see the show after me and the cops got him). The office and maintenance turnever is crazy, I can't get a door fixed (you can see outside from the inside when it's closed) it's been a year and yes I have emails to prove I asked and keep asking to have it fixed. If you do live here please never ever ever ever order anything that involves UPS, Fedex, DHL unless you are going to be home and tell them only to bring it to your door and not leave it if you are not home. I'm not being an ass, I'm trying to save you some money and fustration. The leasing agreement states that they are not responsible for any mail/packages but they accept them as a courtesy to you. If you ask them not to accept them they say they can not to that since the driver just drops them off in bulk. I have lost hundreds of dollars due to this fact, I'm not the only one either, seriously dont ----- later if move in here and read this, you've been warned. Do not lease here until you've drove through at 10pm on a weekend. Better yet, get out and walk through the complex instead. Like I said, I have been in the Army and Navy, over a dozen combat zones and I dare not walk through the complex at that time. The music is crazy loud here, broken beer and liquor bottles all over the place. I tried to start a neiborhood watch here, that wasn't welcomed very well. I'm sure everyone knows about the murders here, if not google "murders lake point charlotte nc" and the stories will come right up. I had an issue with a new move in. He was swearing at his "lady" for a good 20 minutes while they were moving in. The arguement escalated when he couldn't find his sneakers. He was yelling so I went out and asked him to keep it down since there were kids around. I got a "shut the f**k up n****r" I politely reminded him that there were kids around and he said he was going to kill me. Obviously I left, cops called, I notified the apartment office, the assistant apartment manager was there and he came out once the cops detained the person. The cops suggested that he was sorry and there were no weapons and he was only there to help his daughter move in and would not be there again since he is from a different state. It was up to me to press charges or not. The assistant property manager told me I shouldnt since nothing would happen. I questioned him and what his intentions were regarding the new move in. You can probably guess what came next, "nothing" go talk to the cops. I decided not to press charges, simply because I'm sick of the paperwork. It's roughly a hour of your time initially, then another 10 minutes filling out the report from the ADA later on when they get around to prosocuting, and then if needed you go to court. So either you deal with all the crap around you or ignore it. If you can ignore the parties, loud music, break ins, slashed tires, broken windows, drug offers, etc you probably wouldnt mind living at this place. If you are one of those people that likes to go outside and have a peaceful night at home every night then this probably isnt the place for you. I was told they have a security guard here that roams around, I acutally got a letter from the office stating that there was. During my last call to the police while we were waiting for the detective to take my statement they said they have never seen a security guard here in all their years of patrol. I will be in court against them in the coming month or so and hopefully be getting some answers to these questions, I will post a follow up as well. If you have an questions prior to that or you'd like anymore pictures send me an email at mteach@hotmail.com. Pictures are of-lake, highest point, so you can imagine how it looks when its lower-come by on a nice day and smell it for yourself Picture 2 and 3, this is their "Bark Park" it was a pretty decent place to bring your dogs to play until people started destroying it. Too many broken bottles around it now, broken gates, often needles around it (i'm not saying theyre needles for drugs, it could as easly be insulin) Picture 4, that's my mailbox station. might be a good idea to wear gloves when getting your mail, there is usually something strewn across them. Picture 5 and 6. That is how my ceiling looked for over 6 months. It took me forever to reach the district manager and request rent abatement. They did give me 400 dollars off my next months rent though. If you don't believe me, email me and I'll forward you the email that came directly from their office. This was the least of my maintenance issues. I have some that havent been repaired in over a year. If you post a reply to this saying I've never experienced anything like that then I have two words for you, "Get Involved" Just because your neighbor is throwing beer bottles off his balcony watching them smash in the parking lot doesnt mean you sit there and ignore it. Part of what is wrong here is nobody cares about anything other than themselves. A huge part of that is the office staff not setting a good example and not willing to take steps to improve this place. The other part is the residents not speaking up when they should, when they see wrongdoings.
