Apartment Review for Oakbrook - Charlotte, NC

Living here for 2 years, a lot of complaints and I plan to move since I can't stand it anymore : ========================= 1) Water supply problem : either broken or muddy (you must use your filter) 2) Security : too many strangers stay in the apartment overnight and generate noise 3) Parking : many kids there play around and if you have a nice car, god bless you. 4) Staff : Arrogant & unhelpful (only the current manager & staff suck, the manager when I moved in was much better & more helpful) 5) Electric : Frequently, like once in 2 months, the Power will be gone for few hours in the afternoon. Very bad. 6) Cable : maybe old wiring, I can have Cable-TV but I can;t have Cable-internet at the same time, staff is not helpful at all when deal with Time-warner.... another nightmare. 7) Rent : OK but with such bad service & maintenance & no water frequently ... too much

Another 3 bad things : (1) Whenever they request to enter your apt unit for a checkup, they put a note on your door, fine! But once, it's done, they don;t put any note like "We entered your apt @time & Service is done or filter is replaced"

(2) When you have a renewed contract, they just put it outside your apt by clipping it. But your private/personal details is printed the contract. As many strangers can enter the apt, so they don't care your privacy.

(3) For any notice, they just clip it on your door. If you don't come back for few days, as the notice still here, it is a way to tell the strangers that the resident of this apt is not present at least few days.... so they can break in without any concern about the resident who will come back soon.

I lived in other 2 apartments complex before, they have much better practice to their clients. This one is awful. If you choose to live here, I am sure you will have unstoppable headache & internal bleeding.

=============================================================== Besides bad maintenance, the staff's attitude is arrogant and unhelpful. No matter what you request, you told one staff, they don't follow. Then you come the second time next week. They said that staff is new. Again and again, even the manager sucks too (very arrogant). Water-supply was broken again in 4 weeks yesterday on 11/28. Fortunately water come back at night, but it's all muddy so it is not usable for cooking & bathing. Last time on 10/27/2006, the water pipe was broken and no water for 4 days. So I couldn't use my toilet since no water to flush & wash hand. I will not recommend any people move into this apartment, I've lived here for 2 years and I think I should not be lazy anymore. I plan to move in Feb 2007.

The worst thing is a lot of outside strangers stay overnight in the apartment's BBQ area, they made noise and pretty scary for security. I called the maintenace staff, they said you should call 911. I've called 911 and no police show up. Call the apt maintenance again, the staff said, if you have called 911 and the police didn't come, they can;t help either. Ridiculous !!! Not safe at all .... I will suggest people to choose the apartment "1420 Park Road Charlotte" since they have GATE with password to access. Much safer ..... that's important as Charlotte is the 8th Dangereous city in US in 2006.
