Apartment Review for Runaway Bay - Charlotte, NC

When we moved here two years ago we thought it was going to be the perfect spot to live. The first year was ok, no major problems, however that all changed in the second year. There seem to be no standards of who they let move in now (more than 6 people in a two bedroom apartment in one case). Parking is not monitored ( the rule is two cars per apartment), but some tenants have more so that those of us who follow the rules have no place to park when we come home from work. This has been brought to the attention of the office staff more than 6 times by me personally, but with no response. Almost a year ago there was a fire in the building next to ours which now has a blue tattered and torn tarp over it ( a complete eyesore!!!). Construction has been delayed for more than 3 months now and when I call the office to ask questions the response is "We have no idea what is going on over there!!". How can the management of an office complex not know what is going on in their own property. A Port o john has now been installed two feet from the sidewalk to my home. I have been to the office three times in the past week to ask that it be moved, however it still sits there. Would you want to walk next to a toilet to get to your home?? I don't. The smell is unbearable. When supplies got dropped off for construction (that still has not started) they get dumped off in the middle of the parking lot and actually blocked my car from leaving yesterday. No one in the office even knew supplies were being delivered nor do they ever send anyone over to check on the site and make sure that people have a place to park and have access to their homes. I could go on and on but the main idea is do not move here. The staff is uncooperative, unresponsive and generally has no idea how to run a rental complex. Please beware!!!!
