Dont Move Here, Short Interesting Stay
Review Date: 8/11/2010 Reviewer: Anonymous
I stayed here for around 6 months, when I was looking at the apartment there were a couple issues that i noticed such as the beadroom floor was unstable in a couple places and that the bathroom wall was bulging out I had no issue with it as long as it was fixed in a reasonable ammount of time. The person who showed me the apartment assured me this would happen. I waited a month or two called several times to the office when it had not been taken care of and i was told over and over that the maintenance crew was too busy to do anything about the bathroom and then was told the bedroom floor could not and would not be fixed. So i let it go until i did more research. In the meantime at about 4am i woke up during a storm and noticed that the window in the dining room was leaking from the top, i immediatly called the 24 hour maintenance number, it rang but no one answered, i left several messages while juggling with towels dishtowels and whatever else i could find to soak up the water. I never recieved a call back i had to wait until 9am until the office opened to even tell anyone what had happened. I spoke with the manager of the complex first thing in the morning face to face and asked why the number wasn't working, she could not tell me why but assured me she would find out and it would be fixed. That day the padding was reaplaced and they sprayed an anti mold mixture and caulked the top of the window and i never had another issue with that. This is just one of many situations that happened here i wont drone on about all of them but it was a nightmare my whole stay. The road is terrible, they blocked off the other roads that used to be entraces but people around the area continuously create holes in the fence to get in and out of here. Anyway I eventually had to call the city after three months because the floor and the bathroom still had not been taken care of, the first question they asked me was do you have a smoke detector, i hadnt checked at that point, i looked and sure enough there wasn't one. The next one was how is the foundation, of course told them about the floor. It turned out that yes it would be fixed and yes after the city worker came out a month and a half later the floor was fixed, i assume they just didn't want to pay for it. The only reason i complained in the first place was because the floor visible wobbled below my feet. The bathroom was supposed to get fixed but i assume never will be because i am leaving it is too much of a headache and it takes to many phonecalls to get anyone to do anything. A mantenance person also was arguing with the city guy that came down to explain to him that his manager had already said they would fix the bathroom within two months that it did still have to be done unless they could prove it was cosmetic, but they would have to hire someone in the field to do so. I was informed that the apartment below me was not rented out because of the leak coming from my bathroom. There is a lot more to this story just trust me when i say you do not want to deal with this headache. There was also an issue with my girlfriend staying a couple nights out of the week i was told that we had to pay a 45 dollar app fee for her to continue coming over here. Another big reason why I am leaving. If you dont expect to have any issues in your apartment even down to needing a replacement air filter then this place is great for you. It is cheap and you do get plenty of room but it is not a great area and the staff can be problematic. |
